Selling a Home? Why Hiring a Professional Real Estate Photographer Pays for Itself

By: Jen Rubin

Hiring a professional real estate photographer is worth it.

We’ve all heard the phrase “A picture says a 1,000 words”, but when it comes to Real Estate Photography there is nothing further from the truth. When marketing a property hiring a professional is worth the investment. Ready for those stats? Here…we… go!

ATTENTION GRABBER!

First impressions matter! According to Realtor.org, 92 percent of homebuyers use the Internet as part of their home search. I know, not super surprising here, but another statistic shows that buyers spend 60% of their time looking at listing photos, and only 20% of their time on the listing and agent. Great photos also builds trust and helps with that client/agent relationship! (20 Seconds for Love at First Sight, The Wall Street Journal)

MAKE MORE MONEY!

This should be reason enough, right? Nicely composited photos add value to your property, which means more money for you! A redfin study showed that homes with professional photographs sold for at least $934 to $18,819 more than photos taken by an amateur. Pretty convincing argument, wouldn’t you say? MARKET YO SELF!

While we are on the topic of making more money…70% of buyers find their agents online, so build up that portfolio while you’re at it. Wine anyone? (Properties Online Inc., Real Estate Tech Trends, 2014)

HOMES SELL FASTER!

Turn that online traffic into foot traffic! A better photographed home will attract more online buyers to physically visit a property, which leads to less time on the market and you guessed it, more money in that pocket. So if you want your listings to look like this (which you do):

Instead of like this (which you don’t):

Hire a professional real estate photographer. You won’t regret it.
